Vitamin D is necessary for regulating the heartbeat, and new research finds that it may also be involved in preventing coronary artery disease. In a study of more than 18,000 healthy men aged 40 to 75, investigators found that those deficient in D were at a greater risk for heart attack than men whose D levels were sufficient.
